And I’d like to take a minute just to sit right there
I’ll tell you how I became an expert on a disease called dementia.
Fred Kennedy Potts, born and raised
With Joan, he spent most of his days
Working hard, gardening, relaxing all cool
When Joan’s sudden death stirred up his pool.
Spent a couple of years, living alone
Deteriorated til he couldn’t be on his own
He started acting strange and we all got scared
Doc said “I think you’re suffering from a disease called dementia!”
We waited for results and it became clear
Fred Potts wouldn’t last more than a handful of years
If anything we could say this was a scare
But thought nah… bring it on dementia!
That was nearly three years ago, he’s still going strong
We didn’t think that he would last this long
But dementia hasn’t won, we can finally say
